It’s my birthday next week. I will be 37. Today I want to share 36 highlights from being 36…
36 Highlights
- Took part in and completed my 2nd Nanowrimo – writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days
- Completed the Couch to 5k programme
- Tried a couple of park runs
- Attempted to buy a house (let’s call this a work in progress)
- Practiced yoga every single day
- Went to the biggest yoga practice with Adriene at Ally Pally in London
- Attended Liz Gilbert’s big magic workshop in London
- Enjoyed a family holiday in the Algarve in Portugal
- Started reading the Harry Potter series to my son
- Went to Hogwarts in the snow at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour
- Joined a local writing group
- Had a spa day with a friend
- Wrote and shared over 70 blog posts
- Tried Reflexology
- Participated in a coaching & mentor group which meets monthly
- Tried Clubbercise (love it!)
- Visited Legoland for my son’s birthday
- Helped my son keep a summer scrapbook – now full of awesome memories
…halfway, keep going!…
- Documented a week in our family life
- Swam in the Portuguese sea
- Gave up chocolate for 46 days
- Kept a daily gratitude journal (completed 2017’s and have written something for each day of 2018 so far)
- Caught up with friends from New Zealand and Scotland
- Saw the Rolling Stones live (amazing!)
- Took a video most days this year as part of the 1 second everyday project
- Kept my houseplants alive
- Continued adding to and started editing my New Zealand story
- Starting switching to more natural choices in healthy and beauty products
- Wrote morning pages most days (I started this back in October 2015)
- Dyed some of my hair purple
- Read lots of books – including the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning and the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness
- Walked a lot – to get places and also just to enjoy being outside
- Visited ‘Harry Potter Primark’ in London
- Created for and grew Find the Good Everyday here on the blog, on Instagram and Facebook
- Prepared and cooked (mostly) healthy meals for my family most days
- Written this list!

I’m pretty pleased with this list of 36 highlights from being 36!
It’s always good to look back and review. I like doing this at the end of each calendar year but also around my birthday too. I’m also going to think about (and probably journal) my biggest challenges over the past year and what I want to focus on over the next year.
