I think it’s great to have a list of Self Care Ideas handy to refer to when I’m stuck for suggestions or need a quick pep-me-up. I’ve previously talked about setting myself Daily Self Nurturing Activities as well as the Importance of Self-Love and Self Care.

Recently as part of the March Boho Berry Challenge I created a Mind Map of Self Care Ideas. It’s helped me realise that, for me, there are many different ways I can take care of myself. Here’s a look at some of the self care ideas I’ve come up with and how they fit together…

Self Care Ideas

I have these ideas divided into sections with several suggestions for each section. I hope that this will allow me to work out what type of Self Care I need and then which specific activity is suitable for the time I have available and my location.

  • Early Night
  • Lay-in
Get Outside
  • Go for a walk
  • Sit outside
  • Go on an adventure
  • Cuddle
  • Reach out to a friend
  • Talk to someone
  • Have a bath
  • Have a shower
  • Wash face
  • Have a drink of water
  • Eat nourishing foods

Tune In
Tune Out
  • Watch a movie
  • Read a book
  • Watch some youtube
  • Watch a TED talk
  • Read a self help book
  • Do something completely different
  • Put on some music
  • Create a playlist
  • Find a podcast
  • Face mask
  • Hair treatment or cut
  • Spa or beauty salon

Some of these ideas seem so obvious and yet I know at certain times, when I really need them, that I don’t always think of them. I’m really glad I’ve got this list as a starting point to come back to whenever I need it.

  1. Really, you hit all the good ones for me. I tend to gravitate towards almost all of these self- care ideas!! In fact, I pampered myself today with a facial mask and bath.
